Management of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic visiting Poland

On May 10, 2016 the President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, Ms. Daniela Švecová, has met with the First President of the Supreme Court of Poland, Ms. Małgorzata Gersdorf, as well as with the whole management of the court. The members of the Slovak delegation were Mr. Libor Duľa, Chairman of the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic and Mr. Ivan Solej, Director of the Office of the President of the Slovak Supreme Court.
The themes of functions and roles of the supreme courts and the independence of judiciary were discussed at the bilateral meetings. The Polish colleagues were interested in the system and practice of disciplinary prosecution of judges in the Slovak Republic and they agreed on mutual exchange of information in this area. Both delegations have come to an agreement that it shall be beneficial for both parties to inform one another on alternative dispute resolution methods. At the conclusion of the meeting both delegations have ascertained that it is inevitable to strengthen the Slovak-Polish relations and continue to develop Visegrad cooperation.
Besides the visit at the Supreme Court of Poland our delegation has also had meetings at the Constitutional Court of Poland, Regional Court in Krakow and the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland, which took place on May 12, 2016.
