The Office of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as the “Office of the Supreme Court”) is a state budgetary organization managed by and acting on behalf of the Head of the Office of the Supreme Court.
Pursuant to Section 24a(2) of Act No. 757/2004 Coll. on Courts and on Amendments to Certain Acts, as amended, the Office of the Supreme Court performs tasks related to the professional, organizational, personnel, economic, administrative, and technical support for the activities of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic in accordance with the aforementioned Act or specific regulations.
The Office is a civil service agency for the purposes of Act No. 55/2017 Coll. on the Civil Service and on Amendments to Certain Acts, as amended, and an employer pursuant to Act No. 552/2003 Coll. on the Performance of Work in the Public Interest, as amended.
The organization and activities of the Office of the Supreme Court, as well as the status of civil servants and employees performing work in the public interest, are governed by the Organizational Rules of the Office of the Supreme Court.
The Head of the Office of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as the “Head of the Office”) manages and acts on behalf of the Office of the Supreme Court.
The Head of the Office is appointed and dismissed by the President of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, to whom he or she is accountable for the Office’s activities.
In performing the tasks of the Office of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic related to ensuring the operations of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, the Head of the Office is primarily responsible for budget preparation, financial control, ensuring activities in the areas of fire protection, protection of classified information, occupational safety and health, ensuring the economic, material, and financial operation of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, as well as for the effective use of human and financial resources.
For the purposes of civil service and labor relations, the Chief of Staff serves as the General Secretary of the Civil Service Office and, as a statutory representative, performs legal acts on behalf of the employer.
